Hello, I’m Vanessa Fitzgerald, owner of Navigate Aged Care Solutions.
In my previous roles within aged care, I was continually frustrated by the lack of help people received when trying to navigate the aged care system (while caring for their loved one at the same time) and trying to access residential care or home care package.
For too long, families have been left to battle through on their own. The aged care consultants around were expensive (still are!) and not accessible by most in the community.
There had to be a better way…
This is why Navigate Aged Care Solutions was started. I have a unique insight and understanding of Residential and Home Care providers. I understand all aspects of their business, their clinical perspectives, business models and who they want as clients.
My extensive knowledge navigating the aged care system, understanding the costs, documentation requirements and government legislation means I can support you to get things moving quickly and in the right direction.
I am straightforward, empathetic and caring. I am also passionate about helping people through a system that is confusing and stressful and often falls short with helping the people who need it.
You will find that I offer a service that is tailored to your needs, offers value for money and is completely independant, with no commissions from providers or financial planners.
As part of my commitment to helping others within the aged care community, since 2022, I have been a member of the City of Swan’s Dementia Alliance, which is working hard to promote a more dementia friendly community.
I am also Secretary and volunteer at the Swan Valley Memory Cafe and am very proud to have started our intergenerational programme between our members and the children of Emmaus Primary School.
This year, I completed my Diploma in Dementia Care and am looking forward to offering additional services for people living with dementia and their carers in 2026.
As a founding member of the Perth Dementia Collective, myself and others are challenging the status quo and are determined to put the needs and perspectives of the elderly and people living with dementia into greater focus, starting at the community level.
